Canadian Heart Association
ACLS program wordmark

The Canadian Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) education program prepares health-care professionals with the advanced knowledge, clinical decision-making, and practical skills required to effectively participate in or lead a resuscitation event. The program emphasizes the prevention and early recognition of cardiac arrest, continuous high-quality CPR, effective airway and cardiovascular management, post–cardiac arrest care, and the importance of high-performing resuscitation teams.

Designed for health-care professionals working in acute care, emergency, critical care, and prehospital environments, the ACLS program combines interactive education, case-based learning, and realistic simulation scenarios to help participants build confidence in managing adult cardiovascular emergencies. The course reflects current international resuscitation science and educational best practices based on the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
