SMS Terms of Service
Last updated: May 11, 2026
These SMS Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern all text-message communications between Canadian Heart Association ("CHA," "we," "us") and you ("you"). By providing your mobile number to CHA and checking the SMS consent box on a CHA registration or opt-in form, you agree to these Terms.
1. Program description
The CHA SMS program (the "Program") is an automated messaging service that delivers course confirmations, payment receipts, schedule reminders, certificate notifications, and occasional service announcements directly related to CHA education programs you have registered for.
2. Consent and eligibility
By submitting your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box, you affirmatively consent to receive automated text messages from CHA at that number. You confirm that you are the subscriber or authorized user of the number provided and that you are at least the age of majority in your province or state of residence. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase or course registration.
3. Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies, typically 1 to 4 messages per course you take. Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless carrier plan. CHA is not responsible for messaging fees imposed by your carrier.
4. Opt-out
You can opt out of the Program at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message you receive. After your opt-out is processed, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages from the Program. You may re-subscribe at any time by completing the opt-in form again or by replying START or UNSTOP to our number.
5. Help
For help, reply HELP to any CHA message, or contact us at support@canadianheart.com or 1-888-229-8977.
6. Carrier liability
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. CHA is not responsible for messages that fail to deliver due to carrier filtering, network outages, or device issues outside of our control.
7. Privacy
Use of the Program is also governed by our SMS Privacy Notice. CHA does not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes.
8. Supported carriers
The Program is available on most major Canadian and US wireless carriers, including but not limited to Rogers, Bell, Telus, Freedom Mobile, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.
9. Changes
CHA may modify or terminate the Program at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through SMS or email where appropriate. Continued use of the Program after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
