PALS program wordmark

The Canadian Heart Association’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) education programs prepare health-care professionals with the advanced knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills required to effectively recognize, assess, and manage pediatric emergencies and resuscitation events. The program emphasizes the early recognition and treatment of respiratory distress and shock, the prevention of pediatric cardiac arrest, continuous high-quality CPR, effective team dynamics, and evidence-based pediatric resuscitation strategies.

Designed for professionals involved in the care of infants and children, the PALS program combines interactive education, case-based learning, and realistic simulation scenarios to help participants build confidence in managing critically ill pediatric patients in a variety of clinical environments. The course reflects current international resuscitation science and educational best practices based on the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
