The Canadian Heart Association’s Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) prepares health-care professionals with the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to effectively recognize, assess, and manage neonatal emergencies and resuscitation events. The program emphasizes early intervention, effective airway management and ventilation, evidence-based neonatal resuscitation strategies, and the importance of high-performing teams in the delivery room and neonatal care environment.
Designed for professionals involved in maternal, newborn, and neonatal care, the NRP program combines interactive education, case-based learning, and realistic simulation scenarios to help participants build confidence in managing critical neonatal situations. The course reflects current international resuscitation science and educational best practices based on the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines for Neonatal Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
