Canadian Heart Association
BLS program wordmark

The Canadian Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) education program prepares health-care professionals and first responders with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. The program emphasizes the early recognition of cardiac arrest, rapid activation of emergency response systems, continuous high-quality CPR, effective ventilation techniques, and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Designed for professionals working in health-care, emergency response, and public safety environments, the BLS program combines interactive education, hands-on skills practice, and realistic resuscitation scenarios to help participants build confidence in managing adult, child, and infant emergencies. The course reflects current international resuscitation science and educational best practices based on the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
