How Is The Program Delivered?
The Airway Management for Dental Professionals & ACLS for Dental Professionals course is delivered by experienced practitioners who deal with airway emergencies and manage patient emergencies on a regular basis.
The course will be presented using case studies, skill stations, simulations, and other interactive delivery methodologies.
Learning strategies have been selected to help the participant learn both cognitive (drugs & algorithms) and psychomotor skills (compressions, ventilations, basic and advanced airway management) to emphasize the course objectives.
How Will I Be Evaluated?
During the Canadian Heart Association’s Airway Management for Dental Professionals Program, you will be given access to an integrated online evaluation system. It is through the use of this system that you will be evaluated. Evaluation happens in real-time within the program. You can access the system using your smartphone. - Utilize the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments.
- Understand the importance of high-quality BLS, emphasizing early chest compressions and integrating early defibrillation.
- Recognize and understand how to manage patients experiencing a respiratory arrest
- Discuss early recognition and management of Acute Coronary Events and Strokes.
- Recognize and understand how to manage patients experiencing bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias.
- Recognize and understand how to manage patients experiencing a cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation efforts or transfer of care.
